Learn a new game, €1000 added Omaha tournaments...

With another year nearly behind us, the New Year is the perfect time for resolutions, new beginnings and setting ourselves new goals for the year ahead!

What better way to start the New Year than by learning a new game? Poker Heaven is adding €1000 to two Omaha tournaments in January to encourage all our players to try something new.

Omaha is a poker game similar to Texas Hold’em in many ways and very different in others. Just as in Hold'em all players share the community cards on the board, but unlike in Hold'em, each player is dealt 4 down cards, and must use exactly 2 cards from his/her hole cards and 3 from the board to make the best possible 5 card poker hand. Omaha can also be played as High/Low meaning that one pot can be split between 2 players. This means that you will be playing two hands at the same time. For a hand to qualify as a low hand, its highest card cannot be more than 8, and the hand comprised of the lowest high card below and including 8 will win the low pot. For example, a hand comprised of A, 3, 4, 5, 6 will beat a hand comprised of, A, 2, 4, 5, 7. You can find in depth rules on Omaha hi-lo here.
