Televised poker history was rewritten under the PokerGO Studio lights in Las Vegas this weekend. After heated blows in social media between high-stakes titans Andrew Robl and Eric Wasserson the battle continued on the High Stakes Poker LIVE.
The clash resulted in the new all-time record for the biggest pot in the show’s history when the duo staked total $2,478,000 in one hand. When the dust settled, it was Wasserson who took home the nearly $2.5 million cash pot.
Anatomy of the $2,478,000 Hand
- Preflop: Robl J♦10♦ vs. Wasserson A♦9♥. The multiple raises and 3-bet dropped others from the race and stacked the pot nearly $600,000 before the flop.
- The Flop: 4♠7♠9♦. Wasserson caught top pair with his ace-nine. With serious money already invested, both players tapped the felt and took a free card.
- The Turn: The 3♦gave Robl a massive drawing hand. Robl checked, Wasserson fired a $200,000 bet, and Robl pulled the trigger with a $940,000 all-in check-shove. Wasserson went into the tank, found the call, and locked in the biggest pot in televised history.
- The River Ran Twice: Agreeing to run it twice, the dealer rolled out a 6♥on the first run, followed by a A♠ on the second. Neither river connected with Robl's draw, handing Wasserson a complete scoop.
Wasserson wrapped the night up $2.2 million, while Robl walked away nursing a $770,000 loss.
