Mohamed Zazri bubbled the 2026 PokerStars EPT Barcelona Main Event in 272nd place after his pocket pair lost to Josep Ruiz’s A8o on a JQKKA board. 

Mohamed Zazri was eliminated on the bubble of the 2026 PokerStars EPT Barcelona Main Event, finishing in 272nd place after his pocket pair failed to hold against Josep Ruiz’s A8o.

The €5,300 EPT Main Event reached the end of Day 2 with 205 players bagging their chips for Day 3. Those remaining players will return on Tuesday, August 25, while the tournament field stands at 1,823 entries. The minimum cash is €9,900.

Zazri’s tournament came to an end after he flicked in his final 10,000 chips from early position. Josep Ruiz was the only player interested in the pot and called from the button.

The hand was played out while the other tables completed their hands. Once play had finished elsewhere and the cameras had arrived, Zazri and Ruiz tabled their cards.

Zazri held a pocket pair, but it could not survive against Ruiz’s A8o. The board ran out JQKKA, giving Ruiz the winning hand and sending Zazri out of the tournament.

Zazri quickly vacated the tournament area in 272nd place, officially becoming the bubble player of the 2026 EPT Barcelona Main Event.
With Zazri eliminated, the remaining 205 players secured their places for Day 3 of the €5,300 PokerStars EPT Barcelona Main Event. 

They will return on Tuesday, August 25, with the tournament continuing after Day 2 concluded.
The event attracted a total field of 1,823 players, while the minimum cash is €9,900.

For Zazri, however, the tournament ended just before reaching the paid places, with his 272nd-place finish marking the final elimination before the money.
