Nik Wins King’s Million European Poker Championship Main Event
King’s Resort didn't leave much for the imagination for the first edition of its European Poker Championship.

The €1,150 Super Main Event finished with 7,013 entries and more than €6.85 million in the prize pool, while Romania’s Nik walked away with the inaugural title and €546,100.

By the time the last Royal Scepter was handed out on October 6, the series had also produced big wins for Andre Winkler, Mystery Kid and a German player who nearly left Rozvadov before entering one last tournament.

Nik Finishes Off Record-Breaking Super Main

King’s set a €5 million guarantee for the Super Main Event. The final figure landed almost €1.9 million higher.

Across eight starting flights, the field reached 7,013 entries and generated €6,855,207, including a single Day 1 flight that drew 1,763 entries.

Nik spent much of the tournament around the top of the counts. He led after the Day 1 flights and returned to the lead after Day 3, carrying almost a quarter of the chips in play into the closing stages.

Four-handed play produced a deal, after which more than €200,000 remained in contention. Nik was third in chips when the agreement was struck but quickly doubled, eliminated Lyubomir in third and then beat Christophe Vincent for the title.

Andre Winkler Finds Another Rozvadov Trophy

Few players have had a better year at King’s Resort than Andre Winkler.

After recording his first tracked live victory in May and then landing a score of more than €420,000 in Rozvadov during the summer, Winkler added the €2,000 EPC Masters to the list.

The tournament attracted 152 entries, and its €500,000 guarantee was not quite reached through buy-ins. Mystery Kid eventually beat Romania’s Mihai Tabac heads-up after a 19-hour final day, earning €110,300.

The last major result of the festival came from a player who had effectively already checked out.

DENNO0211 and his friends were packed and preparing to leave King’s Resort when they decided to stay another night and enter the €500 EPC Closer instead.
