Triple Comet Cup
Poker tournaments usually ask players to adapt to a structure that’s already been decided for them. Buy-in, pace, qualification rules... It’s all set in stone before you sit down. Poker Planets is flipping that idea on its head with the return of the Triple Comet Cup, a series that lets players decide how fast (or how snail pace slow) they want to approach qualification.

Instead of one entry point, the tournament runs three parallel Day 1 formats, all feeding into the same final. Add a rakeback-focused side event in the Sun Lite Cup, and January turns into quite the month at Poker Planets.

How the Triple Comet Cup Is Set Up

The Triple Comet Cup runs from January 16 (meaning today) through January 25, and is built around three different Day 1 options.

Players can enter the Lite, Medium, or Classic flights, each with its own buy-in and advancement rate. The Lite version runs at $3.30, advancing the top 5 percent of players. Medium costs $5.50 and sends 8 percent forward, while Classic sits at $11 with a much wider 16 percent moving on. All three formats play multiple times per day across the series.

The final takes place on January 25 at 16:30 CET with a prize pool starting at $5,000, and every finalist is already guaranteed a payout.

Final Day and Timing

Day 1 flights run daily between January 16 and January 24 at staggered times depending on the format, with final Day 1s scheduled for the morning of January 25. The final itself begins later that same day, consolidating all qualified stacks into a single in-the-money field.
