Dutch poker player Jay Bo Jordan Hoebe claimed the 2026 WSOP Circuit Madrid Main Event title, winning €207,000 and a WSOP Circuit ring after defeating a field of 918 entries at Casino Gran Vía.
The €1,500 buy-in tournament generated a €1,164,942 prize pool, with 140 players finishing in the money. Hoebe entered the final table as chip leader after ending the penultimate day at the top of the leaderboard and converted that advantage into victory.
Hoebe faced an international final table featuring several established tournament players. Argentina's Jose Ignacio Barbero finished runner-up for €130,000, while Norway's Tom-Aksel Bedell took third place and €90,000.
Cristobal Ochoa Aguilera finished fourth for €63,000, followed by Per Hildebrand in fifth for €45,000 and Aliaksandr Shylko in sixth for €33,000.
The remaining positions went to Cesar Montanes Alonso, who collected €24,000, Fausto Munz, who earned €18,200, and Luca Zapatero Martin, who finished ninth for €14,200.
French journalist and former LivePoker and Winamax contributor Fausto Munz also featured prominently in the Main Event.
Munz entered the nine-handed final table with 5,170,000 chips, equivalent to 43 big blinds, placing fourth in the chip counts. He was among the contenders chasing Hoebe, who held 12,260,000 chips.
All nine finalists had secured at least €14,200, while the eventual champion was also due to receive a $5,000 WSOP Paradise package alongside the €207,000 first-place prize and Circuit ring.
Munz ultimately finished eighth, collecting €18,200. The final-day action saw Barbero recover from ninth place in the chip counts to take the lead during the opening levels. He doubled up against Munz and eliminated Munz, Cesar Montanes Alonso and Per Hildebrand before the final four were reached.
Hoebe later eliminated Bedell in third place to set up heads-up play against Barbero. The lead changed hands several times before Hoebe eventually secured the title.
The victory marked Hoebe's second WSOP Circuit ring. He also received a $5,000 package for the next WSOP Paradise festival.
