Bad Beat Jackpot

Poker Heaven pays out €601,370 Bad Beat Jackpot

November 13th 2009

With Christmas looming one man who can afford to buy expensive presents this year is online poker player Lionel Foulquier!

The Frenchman walked away with a staggering €210,000 by winning the largest ever Bad Beat Jackpot, as a result of his quad 8s being beat by quad queens, on a €0.50/€1 No Limit Table earlier this week.

Foulquier admitted afterwards to being lost for words on winning the life changing amount, “I was aware that the jackpot was standing at over €600,000, but to be honest I didn’t think I stood any chance of winning it. When my quad 8s were beaten I immediately left the table to see if I had won, and when I realized I had, I spoke to a friend of mine to tell him that I had just won over €200,000, and at that point we were both left speechless”.

The big money win is all the more remarkable given the fact that Foulquier has only been playing online poker for just over a year and joined Poker Heaven during the summer, having been attracted to the sign-up bonus, large jackpots and monthly rake races which are offered.

The Frenchman was not the only big winner, with o1nfl1p claiming €105,254.25 courtesy of winning the hand, while the 7 other players participating in the hand all received a cash prize.

“The atmosphere at the table when all the players realized we had won the Bad Beat Jackpot was amazing, and I would like to thank all of the players and the Poker Heaven staff for their best wishes and the support I have received” said Foulquier.

Asked what he intends to with the windfall, the Frenchman revealed that although he plans to treat himself he’ll be back playing online at Poker Heaven in no time - “I am planning to buy an apartment with some of the winnings and of course I intend to play a lot more poker!”

Grant Williams, Head of Gaming at Poker Heaven, expressed his pleasure with the outcome of the promotion, “we are absolutely delighted to have paid out our largest ever Bad Beat Jackpot, and the fact the winner is planning to buy a new apartment with his winnings, highlights the strength of this promotion and the life changing affect it can have on the players lucky enough to be involved in the winning hand.”

“Our core focus is to give more value back to our loyal players, and with the Jackpot immediately reset to €120,000 we are hoping our next payout can surpass this times record breaking amount” concluded Williams.

Everyone at Poker Heaven would like to congratulate Lionel on winning the Bad Beat Jackpot and we look forward to seeing him back at the tables soon!
