  • Fake online casinos use Netflix & Amazon branding to scam Italian users.
  • Scammers create false news stories, reviews, and licenses for legitimacy.
  • Users are urged to verify gambling sites before registering or depositing.
Amazon Scam
Scammers are using the names of Netflix and Amazon to promote fake online casinos through sponsored social media ads. The campaigns use copied branding, fake licences, fabricated news stories and fake player reviews to convince users that the casinos are legitimate.

New Wave of Scammers in Italy

A new wave of gambling scams is appearing across social media, with fraudsters borrowing some of the biggest names on the internet to attract players.
The latest example is Netflix Casino, a supposed online casino promoted to Italian users through sponsored advertising. Netflix has not launched the casino. According to an investigation by SiGMA News, the campaign uses Netflix style branding alongside what appears to be a fake Italian ADM gambling licence.
The ads go considerably further than simply copying a logo.

Now, this is not something unique though - these type of look-a-like scams has been around for a long time but is just recently targeting Italy and apparently... the success rate is high in this country.

Copying La Gazzetta dello Sport and Others

Scammers have created pages designed to resemble major Italian newspapers including La Repubblica, Corriere della Sera and La Gazzetta dello Sport. Fake stories claim that players are winning significant amounts and that established gambling companies are concerned about the arrival of Netflix Casino. Fake reviews, withdrawal receipts,

WhatsApp conversations and winner lists are also used to create the impression of a popular and trusted casino.
Some fake app pages claim hundreds of thousands of downloads and tens of thousands of reviews. Users who follow the advertising links can eventually be redirected away from the Netflix branding entirely and towards gambling sites operating under different names, where registration and deposits are offered.

Amazon Slots Used the Same Playbook

Netflix is not the first major brand targeted.
An earlier scam promoted Amazon Slots, using Amazon branding alongside images of Jeff Bezos and influencer Khaby Lame.
Amazon subsequently confirmed that it had no connection with Amazon Slots, while Italy's ADM confirmed that Amazon Slots and Amazon Slot were not authorised remote gambling operators in the country.
The formula is simple. Use a globally trusted brand to get attention, surround the offer with fake evidence of legitimacy, then push the user towards registration and deposits.
