Australia’s number one high-stakes earner Michael Addamo stepped back onto the online spotlight this week and put on a masterclass in final-table dominance by taking down the $10,000 GGMillion$ High Roller on GGPoker.
Addamo’s presence had been very quiet over the past two years, but his impressive comeback showed no rust after he busted seven players at the final table, taking home the $423,610 first-place prize.
From 6th in Chips to GGMillions Champion
The final table kicked off on the GGPoker broadcast with Lucas Jumalon and Jeff Gross in the booth. Here is how Addamo completely rewrote the script:
- The Starting Lineup: Pedro Neves and Guillaume Nolet held the top stacks, while Addamo started sixth with only 28 big blinds.
- The Turnaround: Addamo ignored conservative ICM play, constantly three-betting and putting opponents to decisions for all their chips.
- The Near-Clean Sweep: In a dominant stretch of cards, Addamo personally delivered seven of the eight final-table knockouts.
- The Outlier: Pedro Neves picked up the only other bust-out, eliminating Nolet in fourth place ($194K) in a tens-versus-fours preflop collision.
- The Winning River: Holding a dominant 7:1 lead heads-up, Addamo called Neves' shove with 8♣7♣ versus A♣Q♠. The 8♦ on the river sealed the $423K victory.
