Bad Beat Jackpot at Rivers Casino
Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, Illinois, has paid out a $659,941.70 Bad Beat Jackpot, with eight players sharing the prize after an extraordinary hand at the poker tables. The player on the losing end received the largest payout, collecting $329,974.70.

The jackpot was confirmed in a social media announcement by the casino shortly after, which detailed how the money was distributed among the players seated at the table.

The winning hand received $164,985, while the remaining six players were awarded $27,497 each, regardless of whether they were involved in the decisive hand.

Following the payout, the casino confirmed that its Bad Beat Jackpot had been reset to $250,683.60.

How the $659,941 Jackpot Was Distributed

The prize followed the poker room's Bad Beat Jackpot distribution structure, awarding the largest share to the player whose qualifying hand was beaten.

Recipient
Payout
Losing Hand$329,974.70
Winning Hand$164,985.00
Six Other Players$27,497.00 Each
Total Jackpot$659,941.70
Jackpot After Reset$250,683.60

The distribution means that approximately half of the jackpot went to the losing player, a quarter to the winning player and the remaining quarter to the other players at the table.

Straight Flush Reportedly Involved in Jackpot Hand

According to other reporting, the losing player held a straight flush, the second strongest category of hand in Texas Hold'em.

That said, the exact cards and final board are still under wraps, and Rivers Casino's jackpot announcement didn't provide any more details of how the hand played out.

Additional information circulating on the Two Plus Two poker forum suggests the jackpot was triggered at approximately 1:30 a.m. on October 29, 2026, during a $1/$3 No Limit Hold'em cash game.

A forum contributor also claimed that the table was largely occupied by regular players and that another player had left roughly ten minutes before the jackpot was hit. However, all this remains unverified for now.

Rivers Casino Has History of Major Bad Beat Payouts

The Des Plaines jackpot follows several major Bad Beat payouts at Rivers Casino properties in the United States.

In August 2022, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh made headlines when a Bad Beat Jackpot exceeding $1.2 million was triggered after four aces lost to a royal flush.

The losing player, Benjamin Flanagan, received $490,708, while Ray Broderson, holding the winning hand, collected $368,029. Six other players shared additional payouts of $61,338 each.

The Pittsburgh jackpot was reported as the largest in US poker history at the time. Although the latest $659,941 payout in Illinois is smaller, it's still another substantial award for players at relatively low stakes.

Bad Beat Jackpot Resets Above $250,000

Bad Beat Jackpots are progressive promotions at selected live poker rooms. Players contribute to a prize pool through qualifying cash game activity, with the jackpot awarded when a sufficiently strong hand loses to an even stronger one under the venue's rules.

The losing player generally receives the largest share, while the winning player and other eligible participants at the table also receive payouts. At Rivers Casino Des Plaines, the jackpot has already been replenished to $250,683.60 following the latest award.
