WPT Global Decides to Heat Up the Late-Summer Grid with WPT Asia Series Overdrive

July is usually a quiet month for major online poker series as the live tournament circuit dominates the headlines, but WPT Global is reversing that trend. Starting July 19, 2026, the platform is launching the WPT Asia Series Overdrive, a 43-day marathon designed to keep the virtual tables packed well into late August with massive prize pools and trophy events.

The series features a combined guaranteed prize pool of over ¥200,000,000 spanning the entire six-week schedule. The primary focus for tournament players will be the 13 WPT Championship Rings up for grabs. WPT Global has split these ring events into two distinct structures to make sure players of all bankroll levels can participate.

Seven of the rings are tied to premier Sunday events, which require direct buy-ins but feature the largest individual guarantees. The remaining six rings will be awarded through multi-flight Mystery Phase Championships. These phased tournaments run daily flights throughout the series, allowing players to build a stack and qualify for Day 2 finals for buy-ins starting as low as ¥55.

For the most dominant players of the series, WPT Global has brought back its ongoing Triple Ring Challenge. This promotion targets players who can close out tournaments and win multiple titles across the platform's flagship stops.

Any player who wins three WPT Championship Rings online across one or multiple WPT Asia Series stops will immediately receive an on-top cash bonus of ¥3,000,000 (approximately $440,000 USD). WPT Global has confirmed that there is no cap on how many players can claim this bonus. 

Consistency across the schedule is the focus of the ¥2,000,000 Overdrive Leaderboards. Instead of a single, grueling leaderboard that spans the entire six weeks, the promotion is divided into six independent weekly races. 

Players earn points by entering and cashing in any series tournament, with the tracking system using a three-part scoring formula.

• Finishing Points: Based on the tournament buy-in and final placement.

• Early Registration Points: Players who register before the first hand is dealt earn up to 30 extra points per day.

• Bubble Insurance: Players who bust directly on the money bubble receive a small points boost.

To keep recreational players involved throughout the 43 days of play, WPT Global has allocated ¥2,100,000 in total rewards for Daily Missions. Players earn entry tickets to hourly automated All-In Flip tournaments by completing straightforward daily tasks, such as making a deposit, playing satellites, or hitting specific milestones on the casino side of the client.

The top survivors from these hourly flips earn seats in the Daily Finals, which run every night at 22:30 UTC+8. There are 42 Daily Finals scheduled across the series, and each features a flat, guaranteed prize pool of ¥50,000.
