If you’re mapping out the early part of the poker year, Cambodia has become one of those stops that’s hard to pencil out entirely. The World Poker Tour is once again opening its Asian calendar at NagaWorld in Phnom Penh, with WPT Cambodia 2026 running from January 21 through February 9.

This time around, the festival arrives with a $3.5 million total series guarantee, reflecting both the growth of the stop and the WPT’s long-term commitment to the region.

How the Festival Is Structured

Rather than centering everything on one marquee tournament, WPT Cambodia stretches across nearly three weeks. The schedule balances:
  • Multi-day Championship events
  • Daily mid-stakes tournaments
  • A substantial High Roller slate
  • Regular PLO and mixed-variant games

That structure makes the series workable whether players are staying for the full run or planning a shorter visit.

Championship Events Headline the Schedule

WPT Prime Cambodia Championship

  • Dates: January 30 to February 3

  • Buy-in: $1,100

  • Guarantee: $750,000

  • Format: Multiple Day 1 flights

The Prime Championship offers multiple entry points and a lower buy-in, making it one of the most accessible headline events on the calendar.

WPT Cambodia Championship

  • Dates: February 4 to February 9

  • Buy-in: $3,500

  • Guarantee: $1.5 million

From Day 2 onward, levels extend to 90 minutes, a structure designed to preserve depth in the later stages. Tournament director Danny McDonagh described it as the strongest WPT structure globally at this buy-in level.

Side Events, High Rollers, and PLO

Away from the Championships, the daily schedule fills in quickly:

  • A new $250 Early Bird Megastack, starting at 10:00 AM

  • The returning $250 Megastack, which drew large fields in 2025

  • 15 High Roller events, with buy-ins from $1,650 up to a $20,000 Super High Roller

  • A $10,000 Single Day High Roller for players with limited time

  • A new $2,200 Survivor event, where the final 20 percent of the field immediately receives a $4,000 bounty chip

For Pot-Limit Omaha players, events run almost daily, including 5-Card PLO, Big O, and Double Board Bomb Pot formats.

Satellite Changes and Schedule Adjustments

According to McDonagh, the 2026 schedule reflects “continuity and adjustment.” Popular events such as the $600 Championship Warm Up return, while the satellite system has been expanded significantly.

Instead of focusing mainly on Main Event qualifiers, satellites now award seats into eight different tournaments, including High Rollers. Across the series, 84 Championship entries are guaranteed via satellites.

Online Qualification via WPT Global

Players can also qualify before arriving in Phnom Penh. WPT Global is running online satellites with buy-ins starting at $0.55, offering routes to $4,000 live packages.

Golden Ticket bonuses are available through the online qualification path, adding further value for players planning their trip in advance.
