The World Series of Poker expanded its media team, signing exclusive partnerships with David Williams and Joe Stapleton. Additionally, broadcaster Jeff Platt took an expanded dual role as host and producer to build brand content and enhance player viewing experiences.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has officially expanded its broadcasting and content teams by securing exclusive partnerships with three prominent industry figures.

Award-winning broadcaster Jeff Platt has transitioned into an elevated dual role as both a host and a producer for the organization.

Joining him in exclusive positions on the WSOP team are veteran poker personalities David Williams and Joe Stapleton, marking a significant talent acquisition for the brand.

Jeff Platt Elevates Role to Host and Producer

Jeff Platt announced his expanded partnership with the WSOP via a post on X (formerly Twitter). In this new capacity, Platt will step behind the scenes as a producer while maintaining his presence as a host. His responsibilities will center directly on building brand content, enhancing player engagement, and improving the viewing experience for global audiences.

Platt entered the poker industry with a background in sports journalism. Over the past decade, he spent the better half of his career working with PokerGO. His extensive media resume also includes a previous stint as a co-host for the PokerNews Podcast.

In front of the camera, Platt is widely recognized for his tableside interviews and tournament commentary during the WSOP Main Event. He is also an active player, holding $888,849 in career Hendon Mob earnings.

Speaking to PokerNews regarding the announcement, Platt expressed genuine appreciation for the opportunity.

He noted that the partnership has developed to a level that satisfies all parties involved, adding that having a voice in shaping content and the brand is a significant honor within the business. This expansion comes after the WSOP was purchased by GGPoker in 2024.

David Williams and Joe Stapleton Sign Exclusive Deals

The organization's team expansion extends to two other recognizable poker personalities. David Williams, a mainstay in poker history for decades, has officially moved into a new position with the organization. Williams has exclusively joined the WSOP lineup, bringing further industry experience to the brand.
Simultaneously, veteran poker commentator Joe Stapleton has joined forces with the WSOP. The signing follows the conclusion of Stapleton's 15 year broadcasting partnership with PokerStars. The official WSOP Twitter handle revealed the news, with Stapleton joking that his retirement lasted for only a single day.
