Alan Keating delivered an unforgettable hero call against Doug Polk during High Stakes Poker’s livestream, capturing a $657,200 pot in a dramatic showdown that showcased his fearless style and set the stage for PokerGO’s upcoming Season 15.

Alan Keating once again proved why he’s one of poker’s most entertaining and fearless players, pulling off a remarkable hero call against Doug Polk during Saturday’s High Stakes Poker livestream on PokerGO.

The hand, now viral among fans, unfolded in a $200/$400 no-limit hold’em cash game loaded with straddles and high-stakes drama.

A Star-Studded Lineup Kicks Off the New Season

The livestream served as a preview for the upcoming High Stakes Poker Season 15 and featured a stacked lineup of poker’s elite. At the table alongside Keating and Polk were Jennifer Tilly, Andrew Robl, Santhosh Suvarna, Cary Katz, Sam Kiki, and Justin Gavri.

Over six hours of play, viewers witnessed huge pots, bold bluffs, and relentless action — but none matched the intensity of the Keating-Polk showdown.

How the $657K Hand Played Out

The hand began with Doug Polk, co-owner of The Lodge Card Club in Texas, opening to $4,000 on the button with K7 suited. Justin Gavri found AJ suited in the small blind and three-bet to $20,000. Keating, never shy to get involved, called from the big blind holding 42 suited, refusing to surrender.

Polk responded with a four-bet to $75,000, forcing Gavri to fold the best hand — but Keating, unfazed, made the call to see a flop of 45Q.

Relentless Pressure and Unshakeable Resolve

Action checked to Polk, who continued with a $35,000 bet. Keating, holding bottom pair, called again. The turn brought the J, improving neither player’s hand. Keating checked a second time, and Polk fired $70,000. Still showing no sign of retreat, Keating made the call once more.

The river came 3, completing no draws. Keating checked for a final time, and Polk, with only $137,000 behind, recognized his only chance to win was aggression. The three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner shoved all in, representing a massive hand.

Keating went deep into the tank before making an astonishing call with just a pair of fours — and it was good. The pot totaled $657,200, with Keating dragging the chips and leaving Polk visibly stunned.

A Pattern of Legendary Calls

For fans familiar with Keating’s fearless approach, this wasn’t a one-off moment. During Season 14, he famously pulled off an even more impressive call worth $911,000, holding 97 suited on an A♣7♠K♠6♥4♥ board against Peter Wang’s 86 bluff.

Keating also owns the record for the largest pot in High Stakes Poker history — a staggering $1.4 million, won during Season 14. His consistent willingness to trust instincts, even in the face of elite competition, has made him one of the game’s most beloved high-stakes regulars.

Polk’s Perspective and Poker Legacy

Doug Polk, known for his sharp analytical mind and iconic online presence, is no stranger to high-pressure moments. The three-time WSOP champion once made one of the most famous folds in the show’s history against Phil Hellmuth back in Season 8. Yet this time, even Polk’s calculated aggression couldn’t outmaneuver Keating’s uncanny reads.

The hand added another unforgettable entry to Polk’s storied career — and a costly lesson about challenging one of poker’s most unpredictable competitors.

High Stakes Poker Returns for Season 15

High Stakes Poker continues to cement its legacy as poker’s premier televised cash game, and this viral hand has set a high bar for the upcoming Season 15. The mix of elite professionals and charismatic personalities ensures fans can expect more drama, huge pots, and fearless decision-making.

A second and final livestream session is scheduled to air on Sunday at 4 p.m. PT on PokerGO, promising more jaw-dropping moments and table talk from poker’s biggest names.
