The 2026 EPT Paris festival was less of a gamble and more of a clinical demonstration by some of the game's most feared end-bosses. In a field of 1,474 entries in the Main Event, Jorge Abreu provided a blueprint for how to use a chip lead as a blunt-force instrument, while Niklas Astedt reminded the world why he remains the gold standard for tournament excellence.

The €3,250 Mystery Bounty: Lagodich Navigates the Chaos

The Mystery Bounty remains the ultimate test of balancing chip accumulation with the lure of the "envelope." In a field of 782 entries, USA’s Frank Lagodich proved he could handle both.

While his €268,360 regular prize was the main draw, his navigation of the bounty-heavy late stages earned him an extra €36,000. Interestingly, the biggest winner relative to his finish was Mitchell Johnson (UK), who turned a 49th-place finish into a massive €64,000 bounty haul, proving that in this format, the trophy isn't the only way to bank a six-figure-style payday.

€50K Super High Roller: The "Lena900" Factor

When the stakes reach €50,000, the margin for error vanishes. Niklas "Lena900" Astedt entered the "2nd Chance" event and reminded the world why he is considered an all-time great.

Outlasting a field of 35 elite entries, Astedt’s heads-up victory over Mikalai Vaskaboinikau for €625,600 was a showcase of composure. With six major Paris cashes since 2023, Astedt has effectively turned the French capital into his personal ATM.

The €5,300 Main Event: Abreu’s Pillar-to-Post Clinic

The Main Event was a story of two different paths: the "untouchable" chip leader and the "short-stack" survivor. Jorge Abreu (Portugal) put on a dominant performance, playing with the "extreme mastery of an online whiz."

He entered the final day with a massive lead and used it as a bludgeon, most notably in a three-way all-in where he cracked pocket kings to send two players to the rail simultaneously.Despite the crushing win, Abreu remained grounded:

I think I did what I had to do, and I got really, really, really lucky. To be honest, I’m feeling the same as I was 24 hours ago... I haven’t landed yet I guess. But it feels really good

Across the table, the story was Felix "xflixx" Schneiders. Starting with just 10 big blinds, the German streamer survived a rollercoaster of emotions. Though he eventually fell in 2nd place when Abreu rivered two pair against his pocket queens, Schneiders’ run was a landmark for his "GRND" community.

Schneiders said:

It means the world. It’s the biggest score of my career already. It’s all we’ve been working for the past three years. EPT is the dream... I’ve got the crew with me and they’re all supporting me. It’s a crazy ride.
