Spanne Strikes Gold: $397K Win at Wynn Millions Championship
- Joseph Spanne wins the $3,500 Wynn Millions Championship for $397,319.
- Spanne entered the final table with a small stack, overcoming top players.
- His strategic play and key hands against Chahn Jung led to victory.
Joseph Spanne secured his first major poker title, winning the $3,500 Wynn Millions Championship for $397,319. Spanne bested a field of 694 players in one of the most prestigious events on the 2026 Las Vegas calendar.
A Rapid Rise from the Short Stack
The final day of play was anything but predictable. Originally scheduled to span an extra day, tournament organizers accelerated the schedule as the action heated up. Spanne entered the nine-handed final table with one of the smallest chip stacks, overshadowed by the massive lead of Chahn Jung.

However, Spanne’s "rollercoaster" day quickly trended upward. He managed to stay afloat while heavyweights like Ryan Tosoc (9th) and Jeff Madsen (7th) were sent to the rail. The turning point occurred during four-handed play; after Spanne eliminated Alexander Farahi in 4th place with an "ace-rag" that flopped a wheel, he found himself in a collision course with the chip leader.
The King-Making Moment
The defining hand of the tournament saw Spanne and Jung clash in a massive pre-flop confrontation. Spanne held pocket kings against Jung's pocket nines. The board ran clean, catapulting Spanne into a dominant lead and stripping Jung of the momentum he had held since the start of the day.
Closing the Deal
Heads-up play began with the levels reduced to 30 minutes, creating a high-pressure environment where the chip lead swung back and forth.
Spanne finally sealed the victory in a limped pot where he held pocket jacks. On a flop, Jung moved all-in. Spanne’s overpair held through the turn and river, ending the match abruptly and securing his place in the top 30 of the 2026 Player of the Year standings.
