Final tables don’t usually run like a speedrun, but this one leaned that way once Schuyler Thornton got comfortable. He started the day chasing Soheb Porbandarwala’s big lead, then flipped the script, won the key pots, and finished the job to become the 2025 WPT World Champion at Wynn Las Vegas.

The Setup: A Monster Field and a Deal at the Top

The $10,400 WPT World Championship drew 1,865 entries and built a prize pool of $18,277,000, paying 233 players with $19,600 as the min-cash.
