Triton Montenegro 2026
January is for planning. March is for execution. And by the time May rolls around, poker plans traditionally go from practicality to indulgence.

After Triton opens 2026 in Jeju, the tour returns then to its natural habitat in late spring: the Adriatic coast. Triton Montenegro is scheduled from May 13 to May 28, 2026, which brings the Super High Roller circuit back to familiar territory, where buy-ins are unapologetic, the player list reads like a Hall of Fame ballot, and the cash games tend to overshadow everything else. And this article?

It's your ultimate guide to Triton Montenegro 2026.

The Not So Secret Montenegro Formula

The Montenegro stop has always occupied a different place in the ecosystem. While Jeju's experimenting with widening the funnel next year, Montenegro is doubling down on what made the brand iconic in the first place.

Set inside Maestral Resort & Casino, just outside Budva, the series delivers a condensed, high-intensity environment where players, media, and the biggest bankrolls in poker all coexist under one roof.

That ecosystem matters. Montenegro has earned its reputation as the tour’s cash-game capital, with private games upstairs frequently eclipsing the tournament buy-ins downstairs. For cash specialists, this stop is the main event.

Add in floor-to-ceiling sea views from the poker room, a tightly curated player list, and the Invitational format that pairs VIPs with elite professionals, and Montenegro remains the most “Triton” Triton stop on the calendar.

Satellites and All Other Options

Unlike Jeju 2026, Triton Montenegro isn't built around mass qualification but that doesn't mean there aren't still paths in for players willing to take a shot.

On site, the Maestral typically runs turbo step satellites on the mornings of major events, allowing players to progress from a mid four-figure buy-in into a five-figure seat. These satellites are limited, fast, and usually decided the same day.

Online, WPT Global is expected to host Triton Passport qualifiers in April. While these packages are often flexible across Triton stops, Montenegro is usually one of the redemption options for players targeting the higher-stakes end of the tour.

For most of the field, however, direct buy-ins remain the norm.

When in Montenegro: Getting There and Around

Travel is manageable but it's also worth planning. Players usually fly into Tivat for proximity, Podgorica for balance, or Dubrovnik for better international connections, with the last one involving a land border crossing into Montenegro. During Triton weeks, private transfers are common and save time.

Once on site, logistics are simple. Poker runs in USD, daily expenses run in euros, and Montenegro does not apply withholding tax on gambling winnings for visiting players, though personal tax obligations vary by country.

Away from the tables, the routine tends to stay local. Budva Old Town is a short ride away for dinners and walks, Sveti Stefan sits just down the coast, and longer breaks often turn into half-day trips around Kotor Bay. It’s not framed as a sightseeing stop, but it’s an easy place to stay comfortable during a long series.
